the three most important things about Land of the Heavans
Summer
Congratulations to LOTH for a new layout! Oh, and congratulations to our first winners for the "best of the best". As usual pony is claiming that the layout is "a work in progress", and promises to do a great job for when it is finally done, with the quote "I have big plans for LOTH". She also asks for everyone to comment somewhere in the c-box, and to please give suggestions for the side bar, as she also wishes for it to be as long as the forum "for the purpose of aesthetics". The best of the best is an open awards system. If anyone wishes to nominate for a category, please PM the admin, and the entrant will be judged. Please do not nominate yourself! the ice of winter has arrivedAnd on time this time! Winter in the Land of the Heavans is an unusual affair. The eucalyptus trees are ones that have never chosen to loose their leaves, no matter how cold the season. And, as these amazing plants dominate the landscape, Land of the Heavans has become a stunning sea of snow and leaves. Winds are common in winter, sometimes whipping up blizzards so strong that it is impossible to see one's own feet. Only the valleys of the mountains remain unchanged, and the valley of the night is devoid of harsh winds. a new month has arrived, and with it, it is Summer! Beaware of fires, long grass and snakes. The herd of the sun is now (generally) a stronger and more dangerous herd, although the strength has not enlightened them in any way! beware the herd of the sun!Pony has gone crazy... again. as a result, she has spent her time improving the site, you will now find a word count, and functioning "money" to play with - however the rewards are not cheap! and... the new layout! thankyou to inthename-stock@deviantart.com for the background, which has been slightly modified to suit. If anyone has more ideas for the improvement of the site, do not hesitate to PM the admin.
In the tales of old, there once was a land. A land of legend, it was said, that was a table cloth upon a table; so high that it was part of the heavens themselves. Protecting the land were treacherous cliffs, steep inclines and tor upon rocky tor. Select few actually knew of the safe paths into the land, and those that found their way, were considered to be blessed by fate herself.
The land itself was one of beauty mystery and magic, filled with creatures and plants as old as the very land they walked upon. The mere sight of life in this land would have startled most old worlders, for it contained creatures like none other.

Adeline and Annika - Dual Queens of Gemini « Thread Started on Apr 3, 2008, 12:32am »
{Excuse the fence in the background}
Annika 6 years 14hh Mare She has a coat of snow white Eyes of light golden-brown No markings Annika is a fairly sweet, gentle mare. Always looking out for the best for her herd, she is definitely the more beloved of the two queens. She's very kindly and loves to socialize with lower-ranked mares. Annika grants favors almost impulsively, and uses her high ranking to other's advantages. She's fair-minded and just, but slightly naive to cruel ways, and can sometimes be easily tricked or overly soft. She's very sensitive and sometimes her feelings can be very easily hurt. She's also rather dreamy and lightheaded, and can sometimes shirk responsibilities. Other: None
Adeline 6 years 14hh Mare She has a coat of snow white Eyes of brown so dark they are nearly black No markings Adeline is, by far, the colder queen. She balances out her sister's softness with strictness and discipline. She tends not to show much affection or love, or any emotion, really, when within sight of any lower-ranked horse. Clever and sharp-eyed, nothing escapes Adeline's notice. She is very brisk and down-to-earth, a no-nonsense mare who holds contempt for the dreamy, flighty, and emotional... all except for her sister, that is. Adeline is reluctant to give praise, and to get her approval is considered the highest honor in her herd. Other: None
Adeline and Annika were born to lower-rank parents. A dynamic duo, the two became instantly popular among the herd for how perfectly they balanced each other out... Adeline's cold cleverness, Annika's sweet lightheadedness. They grew into two ravishing mares, and immediately began catching the attention of stallions in the herd.
It was around this time that the pair of Princes, Prince Donovan and Prince Dewayne, began to notice mares as well. The two pairs of twins went together like peas in a pod, and before long, Adeline and Annika were Queens, as if they hadn't been famous enough in their herd already.
Their romance has been anything but picture-book perfect, however, for controlling such an enormous herd can sometimes be difficult, and in the midst of their young rule, a mutiny took place. The Gemini were split in a rift, and twin fought against twin. The two pairs of monarchs barely escaped with their lives.
Eventually, things settled back down, and peace was restored, and by now it has been 2 years since the war's end. Both Queens have borne twins. And yet, will this peacefulness last...?
