the three most important things about Land of the Heavans
Summer
Congratulations to LOTH for a new layout! Oh, and congratulations to our first winners for the "best of the best". As usual pony is claiming that the layout is "a work in progress", and promises to do a great job for when it is finally done, with the quote "I have big plans for LOTH". She also asks for everyone to comment somewhere in the c-box, and to please give suggestions for the side bar, as she also wishes for it to be as long as the forum "for the purpose of aesthetics". The best of the best is an open awards system. If anyone wishes to nominate for a category, please PM the admin, and the entrant will be judged. Please do not nominate yourself! the ice of winter has arrivedAnd on time this time! Winter in the Land of the Heavans is an unusual affair. The eucalyptus trees are ones that have never chosen to loose their leaves, no matter how cold the season. And, as these amazing plants dominate the landscape, Land of the Heavans has become a stunning sea of snow and leaves. Winds are common in winter, sometimes whipping up blizzards so strong that it is impossible to see one's own feet. Only the valleys of the mountains remain unchanged, and the valley of the night is devoid of harsh winds. a new month has arrived, and with it, it is Summer! Beaware of fires, long grass and snakes. The herd of the sun is now (generally) a stronger and more dangerous herd, although the strength has not enlightened them in any way! beware the herd of the sun!Pony has gone crazy... again. as a result, she has spent her time improving the site, you will now find a word count, and functioning "money" to play with - however the rewards are not cheap! and... the new layout! thankyou to inthename-stock@deviantart.com for the background, which has been slightly modified to suit. If anyone has more ideas for the improvement of the site, do not hesitate to PM the admin.
In the tales of old, there once was a land. A land of legend, it was said, that was a table cloth upon a table; so high that it was part of the heavens themselves. Protecting the land were treacherous cliffs, steep inclines and tor upon rocky tor. Select few actually knew of the safe paths into the land, and those that found their way, were considered to be blessed by fate herself.
The land itself was one of beauty mystery and magic, filled with creatures and plants as old as the very land they walked upon. The mere sight of life in this land would have startled most old worlders, for it contained creatures like none other.

Jour Jouyeux and Peu de Beaute « Thread Started on Jun 10, 2008, 8:54pm »

Jour Joyeux 1 year 14.1hh (When full grown) Colt Coat of claybank red dun Eyes of pitch black No markings Jour Jouyeux is a very fierce young colt. He has his mother's incredible energy and compassion... usually. Sometimes he has rather nasty moodswings, that vary from angry to extremely exhausted. But typically, he is kind and talkative and energetic... although, he can he a bit overprotective of his three sisters sometimes.
History: Jour Joyeux and his twin sister, Peu de Beaute, were born on the go. Their mother had already left her herd, and was already traveling alone, which made their birth no easier. For the first few months of his life, his mother wouldn't even speak to him or his helpless sister.
Whenever they reached the herd of Electra, Jour knew he was truly home. His fellow Electrans were his family. He knew he belonged.
However, when they were massacred, and he, his sister, and his mother turned out to be the only survivors, his mother took him aside and told him the truth. That, although she had been Queen, she wasn't a true Electra, and that she had reason to suspect that his blind and deaf sister wasn't truly an Electra as well. Which implied, of course, that he was all alone... which, for nought but a yearling, is quite crushing news.

Peu de Beaute 1 year 13.2hh (When full grown) Filly Coat of dark chestnut Eyes of brilliant gold-brown White blaze, front left white sock, back white stockings Peu de Beaute is a very gentle, quiet little filly who doesn't talk much, unless she really has to... partly because of her disability, but also partly because she simply doesn't want to. She's a very peaceful, likable young yearling, although a bit aloof at times. She enjoys her alone time, to say the least.
History: It was clear from the beginning that Peu de Beaute's life was going to be difficult. Born both deaf and blind, her twin brother and her mother managed to find a way to communicate with her, and yet, she could not possibly ever leave them, or she would surely be killed. However, Peu always knew that she didn't belong with her mother and brother... she knew her brother was a true Electra, and that her mother wasn't. But she also knew, deep inside herself, that she couldn't possibly be a true Electra either.
It took her a bit to be able to communicate with Juno and Caoimhe when they first joined her family, but once she got to know them, Peu and Caoimhe became quite good friends.
The Rules of the C-BoxSimple really: Use your name, and no other. Do not abuse others. Do not swear or use profane language. Ignore pony's tyop's. Otherwise, enjoy!
