the three most important things about Land of the Heavans
Summer
Congratulations to LOTH for a new layout! Oh, and congratulations to our first winners for the "best of the best". As usual pony is claiming that the layout is "a work in progress", and promises to do a great job for when it is finally done, with the quote "I have big plans for LOTH". She also asks for everyone to comment somewhere in the c-box, and to please give suggestions for the side bar, as she also wishes for it to be as long as the forum "for the purpose of aesthetics". The best of the best is an open awards system. If anyone wishes to nominate for a category, please PM the admin, and the entrant will be judged. Please do not nominate yourself! the ice of winter has arrivedAnd on time this time! Winter in the Land of the Heavans is an unusual affair. The eucalyptus trees are ones that have never chosen to loose their leaves, no matter how cold the season. And, as these amazing plants dominate the landscape, Land of the Heavans has become a stunning sea of snow and leaves. Winds are common in winter, sometimes whipping up blizzards so strong that it is impossible to see one's own feet. Only the valleys of the mountains remain unchanged, and the valley of the night is devoid of harsh winds. a new month has arrived, and with it, it is Summer! Beaware of fires, long grass and snakes. The herd of the sun is now (generally) a stronger and more dangerous herd, although the strength has not enlightened them in any way! beware the herd of the sun!Pony has gone crazy... again. as a result, she has spent her time improving the site, you will now find a word count, and functioning "money" to play with - however the rewards are not cheap! and... the new layout! thankyou to inthename-stock@deviantart.com for the background, which has been slightly modified to suit. If anyone has more ideas for the improvement of the site, do not hesitate to PM the admin.
In the tales of old, there once was a land. A land of legend, it was said, that was a table cloth upon a table; so high that it was part of the heavens themselves. Protecting the land were treacherous cliffs, steep inclines and tor upon rocky tor. Select few actually knew of the safe paths into the land, and those that found their way, were considered to be blessed by fate herself.
The land itself was one of beauty mystery and magic, filled with creatures and plants as old as the very land they walked upon. The mere sight of life in this land would have startled most old worlders, for it contained creatures like none other.
Land of the Heavans is a site that strives for better role playing and writing skills. The easiest way to show this is to promote pieces of work that are simply outstanding. So, raise your glasses, and let us toast those that are the best of Land of the Heavans.
Solbrinn is unique, there is no questioning it. A mare that is seemingly haunted by demons is certainly fun to read about, even if the characters that meet her are not as enthusiastic about her. A twisted past has caused her plight, and if nothing, the past alone is an exciting read. A mare with three personalities is not an easy character to play, by any means, and yet, Swede makes it seem all so easy, as she makes the mare argue with itself, weep, laugh and rage about all in the same post. A character definitely worth commending.
Herd
The Current herd of the moment is: The herd of the Sun
The herd of the Sun as been selected simply because of its uniqueness, and because the members of the herd are delightful to play. In winter, the herd of the sun is not as ferocious as they are in summer, but don't let that fool you because the members of the herd are almost too stupid to know the difference. Almost. With a leader that frequently attempts to murder rocks, and a lead mare that can barely string two words together, it is a wonder as to how this herd has become the major destructive herd of the Land of the Heavans. And, of course, there is no point in asking them, because they don't know either.
Celeris is one of our most active members, frequently posting in and out of character. Her delightful characters are always posted with well written posts that are easy to reply to, and delightful to read. It is this activity, combined with excellent creative writing abilities, both with role paying and other projects that make celeris our favourite member at the moment.
IC Post
The current favorite post of the site is:Winning Post
This post, written by Flick was selected becasue it is so easy to understand the mares emotion's in this post. The use of stuttering, and the written pauses that the mare makes as she explains her painful story are exactly as they should be: frightened, worried and depressed. The line "Rosen, he's gotten me pregnant..." stands on its own and is an extremely powerful and concerning statement. By writing it in such a way, it is easy to see this. Combined with fluent writing and well written descriptions, it makes this an exceptional post. Well done Flick.

The best Australain beer adds Maybe not inspirational, but is still worth watching simply to admire the creativity behind selling the stuff that few Australians can live without, anyway.
"let it be" played by a person without arms. This clip would have to be the definition of inspiration, showing that anything can be achieved, as long as you are willing to try. Found by our member, Flick.
Christian the Lion a clip about a lion that grew up in flat with two men, but was shipped back to Africa because of his size. An incredibly heart warming clip, showing that love knows no bounds.
The Rules of the C-BoxSimple really: Use your name, and no other. Do not abuse others. Do not swear or use profane language. Ignore pony's tyop's. Otherwise, enjoy!
